As a deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God!
I thirst for God, for the living God.
Psalm 42:1-2 NET
Are you growing in holiness?
Are you longing to cultivate a deeper spiritual maturity?
Do you know what to do, where to start, how to sustain your faith journey?

Living as a disciple, a follower of Jesus Christ is not an easy path...
"If anyone wants to become my follower,
he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me."
Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew 16:24
You are invited to join this time of spiritual reflection, restoration, and renewal to increase your knowledge and understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, a Christ follower, who constantly strives to grow in holiness through fostering and nurturing spiritual disciplines.
Discipleship requires that we learn habits and practices – disciplines – which will mold, shape, and form us into our new creation in Christ. There are many ways which guide our individual and corporate journeys. They can be categorized into three areas: Inward Disciplines, Outward Disciplines, and Corporate Disciplines. We’ll consider each perspective and discover how we are already incorporating them into a weekly rhythm which forms our lives and how we might enlarge our spiritual practices to continue maturing as a disciple.
There will be time for large group teaching, small group discussion, personal contemplation, collective Sabbath rest, renewing old friendships and forging new ones. We are excited for Compass Community Church, Harbor Springs UMC, Horton Bay Community Church, Midland UMC, St. Paul UMC of Cheboygan, and participants from additional congregations to partner in ministry for this retreat.
Rev. Kathy Cadarette (Horton Bay Community Church), Rev. Sarah Hescheles (Compass Community Church) and Rev. Bethany Maciejewski (Midland UMC) will guide our journey. The Augustine Center in Conway, Michigan will be our host. Our time together begins on Friday, October 18th at 7p and ends on Saturday, October 19th at 4p. Friday, we will meet from 7-9p and Saturday from 8a–4p.

"Like obedient children, do not comply with the evil urges you used to follow in your ignorance, but, like the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in all of your conduct, for it is written, 'You shall be holy, because I am holy.'"
